Process pictures for my perspective soap turtle. .
Final Solution
For this project I took my soap turtle and 4 additive and 4 subtractive things to it.
For my additives I used;
-Sand
-Pastels
-Palm tree bark
-Candle wax
And for subtractive I;
-Cut off limbs
-Burned away wax
-Brushed sand away
-Melted and distorted pastels
-Poured OJ & let it wash off
I first cut all the limbs from the body
I then melted the main body using a torch, on a piece of palm tree bark and let the soap dry on the bark to adhere it together.
I crushed up pastels and sprinkled the dust onto the main body.
After melting and adhering the remaining limbs to the bark, I dropped sand on some limbs.
After dumping sand, I blew off excess and used the torch to melt the remaining into the soap. I brushed off some loose areas with my hand. I then torched the pastels in the soap to warp and blend the colors some. On the right side of the main body, as well as back left, I also dripped green candle wax into the piece.
Finally I poured Orange Juice on the whole piece, letting it wash away leaving a thin transparent sticky orange tint coving the sculpture.
